It actually (having a bye) can limit that team's score a bit.

Often, a 1st seed is going to earn bonus points (major dec, tech fall, or pin) in those types of matches.

Also, and correct me if I'm wrong, the wrestler doesn't get the advancement point for "making" it to the semis unless he were to win that semifinal match and advance to the finals.

Ideally, we'd have an 8 team league. C'mon CLEMSON, Notre Dame, (or Boston College/Syracuse)!
