our first top 20 class with Hicks, Koshuta and Gilmer. They are our current freshman. Did you expect those freshmen to immediately take us from last to first in their first year??? That was the point. We need to get more talented players like these three. We have 2 more guards signed up for next year. They will help. Still, we need find better interior players as well. We need improvement inside as well as outside. That was what I was talking about.

Keep in mind too that there was a few in the women's game who did not like Dennis getting the job. Odd since they did not object to Gino at UCONN. Nevertheless, I believe they tried to make recruiting difficult for Dennis. And considering he had no experience there, that shouldn't have been too hard. With last years top 20 class, I think he has found a way to overcome that. The new signees reinforce that belief for me.

I think he has us going in the right direction now. We won 10 regular season games last year. If we win 4 more this year, we would have 18 total regular season wins. That is almost double. At the same time, it is not far fetched to believe we could win 6 more regular season games and finish with 20 total. That is double. And if we win 2 games in the ACC Tourney, we end up with between 20 and 22 wins on the year. In my mind, that is the type of improvement that I think justifies keeping Dennis for another 3 or 4 years. But lets also add in the fact that a team with 20 to 22 wins stands a very good chance of going post-season. If we do get into postseason, do you fire the coach who got you there????? Remember that BD left a total dumpster fire. I don't think you would want to do that.
