The Raycom contract is going to limit ACC content on ESPN weekends.


The ACC has 7 games to work with on the weekend. One game is slotted every Sunday night on ESPNU. The ACC is locked into a Monday night game or sometimes 2 Monday night games. The teams playing those want to play on Saturday afternoon, and not on Saturday night. Then Raycom gets 2 games on Saturday and one on Sunday.

So ESPN is left with basically 3 ACC games on the weekend. ESPN shows ACC women's basketball on Sunday.

This weekend ESPN sold the UVA-Louisville game to CBS with "kiss off the glass" Bill Raftery. They were left with 2 and put one on ESPN2 and the other on ESPNU.

Most weekends will be about the same. Raycom takes games from ESPN. The SEC doesn't have Raycom, so their games end up on the SECN.
