Where things could get interesting for both schools


is if WVU ever joined the conference. You can probably assume that the "Backyard Brawl" would be scheduled for "Rivalry Week," so I am not sure who Miami would play. Assuming Notre Dame is the 16th football member, then Notre Dame would probably continue its scheduling philosophy of playing @Stanford or USC, so I guess there is a possibility Miami would be willing to rotate between Cal and UCLA (or at least being willing to schedule multiple home-home series with both schools).

If the ACC somehow got Penn State to join, then I would think Miami would be in the same boat (if WVU were to join). Unfortunately for Miami, there really isn't a school out there (outside of FSU) that would make a great fit for "Rivalry Week." If (or when) the ACC decides to go with a pod format, Miami's lack of a natural "Rivalry Week" opponent will need to be addressed when forming the 4 pods.
