I think UConn football would be fine in the ACC.

Bob Diaco is making good progress with UConn football. Randy Edsall has shown that football can do well at UConn. What the ACC would benefit the most about having UConn in football is growth in mind share and general interest in ACC football in Connecticut and New England with a rivalry with Boston College. New England is a region in the ACC footprint that the ACC is trying hard to gain interest. Having both Boston College and Connecticut along with Notre Dame would help that. The same could be said for ACC basketball in that region.

I'm a proponent for inviting UConn to the ACC. The ACC isn't in expansion mode at the moment. When it becomes in expansion mode, I hope UConn is available and gets good consideration.
