Yes the women are greatly improved.

Last year, the women won a total of 10 games in regular season and just one conference game. They added 2 wins in the ACC tourney for a total of 12 wins all year.

The women have already won 14 regular games this season and 2 conference games. They have already exceeded the regular season total by 4 games. They have already exceeded the conference wins by one game. There are 10 games in the regular season left. These are the games left:

(1) FSU (16-4, 6-1) - we will lose this one
(2) Puke (15-6, 4-3) - we will likely lose but there is a slim chance we could upset
(3) UNC (12-10, 2-5) - winnable, need to take advantage
(4) GT (12-8, 2-5) - winnable
(5) Pitt (9-11, 1-6) - winnable
(6) WF (11-9, 2-5) - winnable
(7) UM (17-3, 5-2) - we lose, hope for a split maybe
(8) Hoos (13-8, 3-4) - winnable, most likely split

We should win 4 more which would mean a final record of 18-11 and 6-10 in conference. That would be 8 more regular season wins total and 5 more wins in conference.

And we could win as many as 6 games. That would put us at 20-9, and 8-8 in conference.

I would call that major improvement

Next year, Hicks, Koshuta and Gilmer will have a year of experience. we will add Genesis Parker who is highly rated and the girl from Christ the King HS in NYC which puts out pretty good ball players. We do need to add some taller girls. ND & Cuse had us in height. So we lost the boards.

One thing to keep in mind, Dennis had only coached men before. Tactics and strategy etc don't vary much but recruiting does. He had no in-roads into the HS girls circuits. That is changing. His first assistants were less experienced and not very good. The new assistants are a great improvement.

IMHO, we have shown much improvement and are heading in the right direction.
