LOS was Zona 41 --- Rodgers threw from GB 45, for 60-yard pass.
In that regard, the blitz "worked" --- Rodgers was scrambling to his left, and had to launch 60-yard pass under pressure. And when rushing 6-7, that's probably worst-case scenario for defense (you don't get the QB, but he's still scrambling and throwing off-balance). Rodgers didn't make the greatest throw in NFL history, but it was certainly a nice play --- many NFL QBs don't make that throw, 60 yards on the dot.
Once again, I wouldn't make the call to rush 6-7. But I'm not convinced it was the Worst Decision Ever. To compare, I thought New England's decision to throw on final drive (the tipped pass) was much much worse.
Come on, I know we've got some Moneyball stat-geeks on here --- let's see an analysis of rushing 3-4 vs rushing 6-7, based on Hail Mary LOS. If your analysis is robust enough, maybe you'll get a job with Cleveland's new Department of Strategy/Analytics.
