That isn't to say that you CAN'T be successful without an abundance of 4 and 5 star recruits, but the VAST majority of programs that are often in the top 10 recruit at least at the top 15 level year in and year out.

Of course, there are plenty of 5 star prospects who don't work out at that level. But with 40% of these 5 star prospects getting drafted, that to me is a strong correlation. And another large number of these 5 star prospects still turn into solid college players.

One of the major reasons for our fall of late has been our fall in recruiting in the last 5 years or so. If Fuente can at least get us back to recruiting as well as we did in Beamer's heyday, I'll be happy. I don't see us ever being a program that consistently recruits at the top 15 level.
