We are not the same hungry/fanatical fan base that we were in the early 2000's.

NASCAR averages 97,000 fans per event. Over 5 million on TV per event. Over a 10 month season.
So NASCAR is still doing good just not great.

IMO NASCAR lost fans' interest with all the replications of the 1.5 mile cookie cutter tracks which were built to get more attendance at tracks. NASCAR just over did it with that.

Bristol isn't one of those tracks. But filling 160,000 seats is no easy task.
