In a couple of my other posts I have links that discuss

the candidates if the Pac-12 ever decided to expand to become the Pac-16. One of the links it talks about the Pac-12's "academic" concerns about BYU is a bigger issue than the athletic issue. I think it is because there is more issues on the academic side and the "Sunday issue" is the only issue on the athletic side.

I do agree that if BYU forfeited then it would cost people money. So I go back to my NCAA example. If BYU's women's basketball team makes it to the Final Four, then do you see the NCAA moving (at the last minute) the date of the Semi-Final games (which are played on Sunday) to another date? If not, then BYU has 2 options; either play the game or forfeit the game. The game can't be moved to another date (i.e. Saturday or Monday) because they might be reserved for the Men's Final Four. Plus, BYU new ahead time that if their women's team was invited to play in the tournament, then there is the possibility they would have a game scheduled on Sunday. BYU can't decide the invitation of the bylaw (basically says that a team can't decline an invitation to the NCAA Tournament if invited). So if BYU decides to play on Sunday in the NCAA Tournament, then it should be willing to also make an exception for a conference tournament. If BYU is willing to make an exception for conference tournaments, then I would think the Pac-12 would be willing to be flexible with the regular season schedules.
