RPI doesn't care all that much whether you win or lose.
25% of the rating is your W/L record.
50% is the average W/L record of your opponents.
25% is the average W/L record of their opponents.
That makes our current RPI terrible with the creampuff early schedule.
The example I like to give is that if VT and Radford decided to cut travel costs and play only each other 30 times, and VT won all 30, both teams would have the same RPI!
