Would it be better for the image of colleges and universities


if these huge athletic programs spun out on their own and given their own tax IDs? The various athletic programs would then have the freedom to become affiliated with the various professional leagues or decide to form their own leagues. The university/college can still remain affiliated with the athletic program as its primary sponsor. For example the University of Northampton is the primary sponsor of Northampton Town FC.
