I get it, but I'm not sure that's completely

accurate. He was a world and olympic champ and those elite recruits wanted to be coached by him personally. They didn't care what school they competed for. So, I don't think it's a case of him taking the recruits. I think they followed him. And they were willing to lose a year of eligibility to do it, because we didn't release them.

It was just crappy timing for us. Remember, Brands wrestled at Iowa and was an assistant coach under Zalesky (who was eventually fired, which created the opening). Of course he would jump at the chance to be the head guy at Iowa. I'm sure he didn't think it would come so soon after taking the job here. And we didn't even get the benefit of one year for that recruting class since they all redshirted the first year - which compounded the problem.

I think it's time to let it go. And just think how sweet it will be when Dresser beats him!
