Re: Hey Edmunds...

Well first, Taijah, Hannah and Dom will be missed. Taijah & Hannah have both been starters since freshman year. Taijah is a high level defender and rebounder and Hannah is finally playing up to her all ACC potential. Dom has also had a great year off the bench and hopefully will continue to be an asset off the bench.

However as to my orginial point, it has taken Wolff to this point to build legitimate depth to the roster. Magarity, Sidney Cooke will be a very talented frontcourt with Tara Nahodil as a senior backup post who has improved and is playing good minutes this year. I imagine the hope is that Koshuta will work extremely this hard in practice vs the senior players to improve and be ready next year to contribute and have a large role. She was a top 50 HS player nationally and has the talent to be a good player at VT.

Hicks & Panousis will make up one of the ACC strongest backcourts and Camp very talented backup. Sami HIll will be a senior and has also played a lot in her career and is a talented player. Gilmer, like Koshuta, will be expected to use this year in practice to improve and have a large role next year. Wolff has signed two very talented guards so there will be more depth to an already very strong unit.

Wolff has done some of his best recruiting in the spring period and I would imagine that to continue. Uju Ugoka, Hannah, Taijah, Tara, Dom and Vanessa were all signed later in the spring period so I imagine the staff is working very hard to add some frontcourt depth or just more good players..

The best college programs, either men or women (except for Kent, Duke or Kansas men) are those built with mature experienced players. My entire point is it takes two to three FULL recruiting cycles which means you get to coach your first and second recruiting classes through their entire careers, especially at a extremely hard place to win in basketball like VT. Hannah Young is playing like an All ACC player this year but it took her 3 years to get to this point. VP is one of the best guards in the ACC and best 3pt shooters in the country but she is now a Junior. Now you bring in talented kids and get them to sit and learn and compete against older teammates so when it's their turn they are ready. They are ready because they are older, experienced and more mature and typically are playing against younger inexperienced freshman or sophomores.

Considering Hicks & Magarity are just freshman with the amount of depth discussed above the future is as bright as it has ever been at VT. He has them aligned for a 3-4 year postseason run while competing in the ACC which is unheard off at VT. It is an exciting time and also good to see the support lately on this board. Because the play has been so good the negative doomsayers who have nothing good to say unless it is a personal attack are nowhere to be found.

Go Hokies!
