Re: Those who follow WBB closely - What has changed this year? Remarkable!

Garrity being healthy is a plus. Hicks is a definite plus at point. Clearly ACC talent. Extremely quick and handles the ball and pressures the ball well. Can also drive and shoot a pull up jumper from 10 feet. Powell and Camp are improved off the bench. Hill contributes off the bench. Getting Cooke back will help also. I also see a change in coaching style. The last few years it seems that Coach did a lot of yelling at the players and offered little encouragement and there was little contribution from the asst. coaches. Coach is still intense but there is more encouragement and emphasis on the positives, maybe because there are more positives. I've never thought yelling worked well with most women players. Anderson and Dooley don't just sit quietly on the bench but do a fair bit of coaching. Looking forward to see how they play against Louisville and Cuse on the road this week. If you haven't checked Cuse beat the Dookies by 36 this afternoon. The Hoos also beat Miami by 20. Holding BC to 8 pts in the 2nd half today was impressive. The defense is much improved and we have better ball movement on offense than I've seen in a while. I don't expect to beat ND but we'll get a fair share of ACC wins. A very physical team in a game where the refs let em play will give us the most trouble I think. I thought Wolff was a lazy hire and haven't been impressed before this year but this year it looks to me like the team is responding to him better. Maybe it just took 4 years for him to adjust his style of coaching and along with that got better talent.
