Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nebraska were impressive in their wins.

Iowa was still on vacation when the Rose Bowl started and they met a Stanford team that was pissed they were left out of the playoffs. Took them 20 minutes to get their heads in the right place and by them it was already over. Not the same Iowa team that ended the regular season.

Michigan State and Northwestern likewise overachieved based on effort during the regular season, and they ran into a better team and didn't bring their scrappiness.

Minnesota, Penn State, and Indiana did as expected.
