I lived in Georgia on the Chatahooche that forms the border between Alabama and Georgia. One diner on the Alabama side had Bama wallpaper on one wall, Auburn,UGA and GT on the other, people sat on “their side”.
I think the VT UVA rivalry is good. Some are better some are worse. My two brothers are Wahoos and they take it pretty seriously.
The fans at Scott Stadium were looking for trouble after this years loss. “Why do rednecks have to storm the field?” (Dude was obviously a Shifflet). The reply was “Because we can”. My brother had to talk to the guy while me and the other Hokie had to fade away. Nothing like the Orange Bowl back in the day but it seems all the losing is giving the Hoo faithful a little spice.
