Perfect Hire tbf


Dude is a UVA guy thru and thru. He was a great player for them (was an all American for them in 98 don't forget). Real shame the 98 injury really screwed up his leg and never really recovered. If he left after 97 likely a different story/NFL career for him but he came back and got a really bad knee injury.

Has a solid resume in VA, will definitely recruit the area extremely well. Likely not a big $ hire and not likely to bolt for a bigger program if he succeeds at UVA. I don't think he's a guy looking to get the the NFL and the NFL isn't looking to poach him either. UVA can spend on other coaches to try to fill out a good staff around him.

Kind of shocked it took him this long to get back to UVA again but, the rise up the ladder was not available at UVA so he made path upwards outside of UVA to get to this point. If he was a hokie with that resume as a player and coach, I'd be pretty happy with the hire myself. Even if he wasn't 100 proven yet.
