As a Pirates' fan ... I want to vomit but until baseball fixes the revenue
problem to make a level playing field, I might as well find other activities to focus on during baseball season. I know the Rays have been successful but even they have had to endure massive sell-offs in order to try to compete. Somehow they continue to draft and develop great players but looking at the other small market (revenue) clubs like Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Arizona, Kansas City, etc you can see they operate at a massive disadvantage. I am all for capitalism in life, but I believe the NFL has it right as far as establishing a level playing field. MLB is effectively like expecting Vanderbilt to routinely compete with the rest of the SEC ... it will never happen consistently.
