Cattoor was fine. He had the one bad turnover where he got stripped up high, but other than that he played good D, just didn't get enough open looks.

I thought Storm actually played really well, considering that Memphis was relentless with their pressure on him and he had basically no one to help with that pressure. IMHO Young is going to have to learn to trust Pedulla sooner or later, because we can't ask Murphy to be a one-man show for 40 mins a game against presses.

Aluma was the one "Wofford" guy that I think really struggled, but I don't think he was "overmatched" per se, it was more a case of him getting caught up in trying to out-Memphis their frontcourt guys. Aluma attacking the rim is great when he's playing against guys like Jay Huff. When he's playing a team like Memphis, or UNC, or FSU, his advantage is not going to be trying to out-quick the opposing bigs, it's his ability to step out and hit jumpers. I also think this is another case where Coach needs to trust his bench more- would have loved to see VT go with a taller frontcourt, with Ojiako and/or N'Guessan playing alongside Aluma.

VT could have, and arguably should have, won that Memphis game. The reason they didn't was more mental and tactical than physical, IMHO. Would love to see these two teams meet again down the road, because I think VT players and coaches learned a lot and would make some adjustments.
