It appears the Colonel was diagnosed with acute leukemia in June 1980


and died on December 16, 1980 at the ripe old age of 90. Something I found interesting was that his body lay in state in the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfurt after his funeral services was held at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary Chapel. For some reason I always thought was done before the funeral service, but I guess not.
