A glance at her twitter account shows a ton of pro-VT tweets recently, including one 4 days ago of the new VT letter jacket winners from the softball team and Alexis is front and center with a smile a mile wide.

As I said below (but it's worth restating), this may simply be a proactive move on her part to prepare for graduate school next year.

In August, Duke pitcher Shelby Walters entered the transfer portal and everyone (including myself) thought that meant that she was leaving Duke. That wasn't the case at all.

It turned out that she was simply putting her name in the portal so that she could have conversations with other perspective coaches because Duke didn't offer her program of study in graduate school.

Per Walters' own twitter account, she said that her decision to enter the portal was “based solely on my desire to pursue a Master’s degree next year. Duke does not provide my intended Master’s program.”

I do not know anything about Alexa's situation, but it is certainly possible that it's a similar circumstance. I am fairly certain that she is NOT allowed to speak with other college coaches until she graduates unless she is in the transfer portal, so that may be her reasoning, which is a smart move on her part.

For what it's worth, I attended several fall practices and all the VT fall ball games and she looked to my untrained eye that she was having a very, very good fall.

Yes, this Hokies team is loaded with talent, but don't count Alexis out just yet.
