Thank you to everyone who chimed in earlier. Yous guys are pretty smart - you all nailed it. I called GEICO again and this time didn't even get any pushback. The agent that helped me knew exactly what to do (two claims/two deductibles, although I'm only pursuing a claim for the damage to my wife's car). That definitely takes a bit of the sting out of accident. I was thinking I had just lit any Christmas bonus I may receive on fire, and then some. At least now I'm only out the deductible, and will probably pay out of pocket to repair my truck at some point.
