I'd only consider the first 3 if I were Whit because I think you need experience working with less resources than coordinators at top programs are used to having.

If you strike out there you have to lean into a young guy who has shown the ability to innovate and do more with less from a talent perspective while leading a program for more than a few years. I don't think you can go coordinator with this hire, the fanbase won't have the patience after Fuente to put up with another guy learning on the job. 2nd priority would be ties to VA.

I do think Brent Pry is a very intriguing option, VT is a big enough job to "pry" him away from Franklin and he watched Beamer elevate the program first hand which is incredibly valuable for a school like VT. The fact that he's a great defensive coach and understands recruiting the area are both big benefits. Problem is the no HC experience
