It's pretty remarkable considering how many other schools have fired and then hired coaches over the last 5 years, let alone 35 years. I would wager most of us (myself included) haven't witnessed this over the lifetime as a Hokie fan. There's bound to be a lot of uncertainty, disappointment and possibly even anger at the hire (unless we manage to hire Fickell or Dabo Sweeney or Kirby Smart). New territory for most of us indeed.
