Quads locks everyone in the pod to the same rivals

That makes it impossible to have all the traditional rivalries preserved.

VT's 3 rivals would likely be UVa, WVU, and either GT or Miami. WVU would have Pitt. UVA would have UNC. Miami would have FSU and BC.

You can't have all of those maintained with quads, but with everyone having 3 preserved rivalries (different for each team) you can.
