The landscape of the Big-12 Pac-12 and ACC has not changed


The Big-12 was the third best football conference before the Texas and Oklahoma split and with the new members taken into account that position has not changed. All season long the Sagarin ratings have shown the following order - SEC > Big Ten > Big-12 > ACC > Pac-12

The current weeks ratings are:

SEC - 79.48
BIG - 77.65
B12 - 76.44
ACC - 74.87
P12 - 73.74

When it comes to men's basketball, the Big-12 was already the best and that quality level has improved over the second place ACC.

The Big-12 plans to add Boise State, Memphis, SMU and USF to round out the conference before the 2025 media package goes into effect. While this is early on those negotiations, the Big-12 has been told the current contract will be extended per member. The current contract is paid out 409 million divided by 10. The conference takes roughly 10% off of the top and left about 38 million for each member. Bowlsby has said he expects each new member whether we go to 12 or 16 to continue that level of payout if not increase slightly. The Big-12 will also retain Tier 3 rights which amounts to 10 to 15 million on average per member. He has also said he thinks that can be increased as well as 16 members has a great deal more live content to broadcast than does a conference with just ten teams.

The Big-12 has not only survived the exit of Texas and Oklahoma it has improved in every way.
