Seems like it's part of the VT culture to always blame the offense


The O averaged more than 3 points per possession, not counting the kneel down before halftime or the Hail Mary. That's more than enough to win most games. But the D actually managed to give up even more than that, which will almost always cause you to lose.

By the standard Hokie rationale, if the defense plays well but the offense doesn't, then the offense didn't pull their weight and was fully responsible for the loss. But if the offense scores a lot but the defense gives up even more, then the offense didn't do enough and is fully responsible for the loss also.

(BTW, I'm going to bat for the O in this game only. They've been beyond disappointing for the season as a whole.)
