There should never be a bye in a football playoff


In recent years, there have never been more than 3 teams who had a legitimate shot at winning the national championship, and it's usually just two. Adding another round of games means you're introducing blowouts. Adding a 3rd round means even more blowouts. That's nothing more than a money grab.

If they decide to expand, should mandate that no conference gets more than two teams in the tournament, and they must play each other in the first round.
