I think it is more about framing the problem. There is a disconnect.


At the core my issue is a disconnect between what we say we are, and the product on the field. We have many who believe we should be competing for championships. Others who just want to be competitive. Others who say we should care just because.

What is the mission of sports within the larger context of VT? What are our expectations for the football program? Is our support for the program in line with our expectations? Are the results in line with our support?

If we all sat down and agreed that a 6-6 program is good for a list of reasons that extend beyond just competing on the field, I would be happier. We don't have that now. What we have is the same mindset we had from 1995-2010. That no longer fits with reality today.

The dissonance is killing me.
