List of times we have scored 10 or fewer points since 1995
I'm not drawing any conclusions from here, and certainly schedules are not the same and football has changed a lot over this time, so the comparisons between the Bustle era and now aren't necessarily apt. Still, I found it interesting.
And of course, it's worth noting that Fuente's only year without a 10-or-fewer performance was in 2016 when it was almost entirely Beamer's players.
Fuente averages 0.83/season
Loeffler averaged 1.33/season
Stinespring averaged 0.64/season
Bustle averaged 0.43/season
Under Fuente (2016 - present / 6 seasons):
2021 Pitt 28 - VT 7 (home loss)
2020 #3 Clemson 45 - VT 10 (home loss)
2019 Duke 45 - VT 10 (home loss)
2017 VT 10 - UVA 0 (away WIN)
2017 Miami 28 - VT 10 (away loss)
Under Beamer / Loeffler (2013 - 2015 / 3 seasons)
2014 WFU 6 - VT 3 (away loss)
2014 Miami 30 - VT 6 (home loss)
2013 #1 Alabama 35 - VT 10 (neutral loss)
2013 Duke 13 - VT 10 (home loss)
Under Beamer / Stinespring (2002 - 2012 / 11 seasons)
2012 VT 13 - Rutgers 10 ... we scored 13, but 3 was in OT, so to be fair, including this one (neutral win)
2011 #13 Clemson 23 - #11 VT 3 (home loss)
2011 #21 Clemson 38 - #5 VT 10 (neutral loss)
2007 #2 BC 14 - #8 VT 10 (home loss)
2007 #2 LSU 48 - #9 VT 7 (away loss)
2006 BC 22 - #22 VT 3 (away loss)
2005 #5 Miami 27 - #3 VT 7 (home loss)
Under Beamer / Bustle (1995 - 2001 / 7 seasons)
2001 Pitt 38 - VT 7 (away loss, should be noted this is even worse because the 7 was on special teams)
1998 UNC 42 - VT 3 (neutral loss)
1995 Cincy 16 - VT 0 (home loss)
