Not that everything is is good, but if the O line was just mediocre we would have beaten WVU. We had first and goal at the 3 and couldn't score. We don't have "big boy" pants. Can't run for 3 yards in 4 plays. Biggest tell is on 3rd or 4th and 1. In the Pitt game we finally tried a conventional QB sneak and got stopped. When Pitt tried the QB sneak on 2 different occasions, they made it easily - got about 3 yards each time. The TV guys made comments about how good the Pitt push was when the ran the QB sneak. VT has lots of problems on offense but if you can't run the most basic play (QB sneak) successfully, the you probably aren't going to be able to run the ball very well. Corny and Fu take a lot of heat about play calling, but the QB sneak is the text book play call in that situation and the players can't execute. I have seen VT go heavy and come up short in 3rd /4th and short too many times recently. I think they should spread the other team out and run a speed option to the weak side of the field. If BB3 is as fast as he is supposed to be, he should be able to beat the defense if its all bunched up in the middle to the sideline and get a yard.
