ESPN......


is a legacy property and the linear television business is optimistically a mature and likely declining/dying business. However, the content and the properties as well as industry credibility is still an asset. The question is the best way to monetize that asset. I don't think the authors of the article are actually looking at what goes in to that calculation. I get the relationship of valuation and stock price but, I am not remotely convinced that spinning off ESPN gets them any real bump.
