Though I’m not sure I fully grasp how firing a subordinate is an example of “owning” the problem. I mean, if you’re boss said to you, “Hey. You’re under-performing. I take full responsibility for your poor performance. You’re fired.” Well, I’m not sure I’d say your boss was really “owning” it. I’d say he was avoiding responsibility and blaming a subordinate. But that’s just me.

Glad you’ve expanded your position beyond the very trite “playcalling” criticism. Progress!
