The NCAA allows women’s teams to sign up guys to practice against. It helps the coaches prepare for upcoming games by simulating what the next opponent will do in practice by keeping the girls all on one team. Most teams have at least a few. They have to go through the same process of what a player does and actually get added to the roster for compliance reasons and all that. They just aren’t allowed to compete. Many are interested in Coaching and just love the game of basketball, as I understand the current VT group is incredibly dedicated!
