I thought 8-4 and going 2-2 vs. UNC, WVU, Notre Dame and UVA would save his job. Fuente is 1-2 vs. those 4 at this point. Now I feel Pitt and each following game will be for his job security. The ACC is pretty much garbage this season. It's possible Tech can win all their remaining games but it's possible they could lose any of them with their QB situation and dismal running attack. Notre Dame isn't a Top 15 team. They're living off their name right now. They'll probably end up with 2 more loses. It's been a strange season. Post-Covid and the transfer portal are key factors. Example: Wake is loaded with 5th year seniors. The transfer portal has taketh and giveth away. It all comes down to QB play and having an injury prone QB and no depth is a major concern. Our defense seemed to disappear late in the game. Then again I saw 55-48 and 52-51 games yesterday. Wake won in OT at lowly Syracuse. UNC is greatly underachieving. UVA won another game with their opponent misisng a makeable game winning FG. Bama loss giving up 41 points to an unranked TAMU. Clemson has no offense. Tech has 2 more home games and we're only in ealry October. Strange season. I'm taking it one game at a time. If Tech loses at UVA and goes 7-5, Tech needs to go another direction in football leadership. If Tech ends up 8-4 with a win over UVA, it will be somewhat of a miracle with our current QB and RB situation. To be realistic, 8-4 would probably win the ACC Coastal this season. I'd feel much better if Tech beats Pitt.
