Offense + expereince + great PG is more important than defense in March

This team will be excellent offensively, in fact I would bet they set VT records for efficiency.

9 of the last 12 champions have had a top 5 offense (in terms of efficiency), defensively those numbers avg more like 15th.

With the exception of UVA, every national champion has had a PG that was either all-conference or an all-american.

Kentucky and Duke are the only recent champions that won with freshmen/sophomores as the main contributors.

Neither Bede nor Radford could effectively play the primary ball-handler/distributor role. Radford filled a role by default because we had no depth, but whenever we played against a physically superior team he disappeared. I think you'll be surprised by what having Storm will do to our transition offense, he'll push the ball much more effectively (maybe not as quickly). We're certainly going to miss the depth, especially Radfords ability to rebound, but we're not going to be playing at a sub-300 tempo this year.

Ok. But offense is only half of the game (if that). -- marcbvtgm 10/08/2021 2:42PM
