I know there is a meeting scheduled later this year and there could be

changes to how the NCAA is structured. Remember some of the proposed changes will require majority support of either all 3 division levels or majority support within a division level. In this case, the divisional format for football will require majority support from both the FBS and FCS given that the bylaw applies to both subdivisions. Just because the power conferences happen to propose something doesn't necessarily mean they will get enough support for it. Even though people are predicting this meeting will result in major change to the NCAA similar to what we saw in 1971 with the creation of the 3 division levels, it wouldn't surprise me if the changes are more on par with what happened in 1978 when DI decided to create the 2 subdivisions in football.
