In the case of too good to be true
I played a charity golf tournament a few weeks ago, Laurel Hill for the NOVA golfers. Came to number 16, par 3 190 yards, and I aced it. Great shot, on the flag the entire way, landed less than ten feet away and rolled in. So happens that there was a car parked on the tee box, with a messgae that first hole in one wins a Toyota Corolla. Seeing that, we call the clubhouse to get a guy out there to validate it, and they four of us stayed on the tee box. Pretty cool, an ace and a car!
So it's been a few weeks and I am getting the run around that paperwork needs to be filed with the dealer, blah blah blah. I get a call from the underwriter on Tuesday that he will send me paperwork. No email received, so I call today to find out that it was denied because there was no independent person to verify. And yes, the contract the dealer signed had that stipulation. Although we had a course person come and do that. They need to have someone that actually saw the ball go in the hole. There were guys on the 15th green that saw us celebrating, but that doesn't work either.
Not sure where it will end up, but kind of a crappy let down.
