Those five players
Were Radford (29%), Diarra (13%), Bede (25%), Bamisile (25%) and N'Guessan (0% - 0/2). Mutts shot 33%. But I think that's a really interesting point. Mutts was already pretty decent. Hopefully he and N'Guessan have both improved as shooters this offseason after spending so much time in the gym.
Would be huge to essentially have, out of the 11 scholarship players, two guys (Ojiako and Haynes) that aren't great shooters but nine (Cattoor, Alleyne, N'Guessan, Maddox, Aluma, Mutts, Murphy, Pedulla and Kidd) that are. Would make VT a lot more difficult to defend.
Young was asked yesterday about if this is his best shooting team as a head coach. His answer was, "Collectively, maybe. ... I have a lot of things bouncing through my head on how to use that [all five players being able to shoot]. ... That will certainly be a strong suit of this team."
Interesting to look at it from the perspective of almost every player on the team is at least a decent shooter, while the starting five is five solid shooters.
