Speaking of development … this is regression for BB & The O from last year
“Burmeister is the 80th-ranked passer in the FBS this year, according to Pro Football Focus, in large part due to inaccuracy and a reliance on receivers to gain yards after the catch. So far, 18.9 percent of his pass attempts have been off-target incompletions, per PFF, the second-highest rate in the ACC and well above the FBS average of 13.5 percent. That figure spikes to 26.3 percent on third down.
His average pass has been throw to targets 1.8 yards in front of the first-down markers, which is 93rd nationally and almost two yards shorter than the FBS average.
Though protection wasn’t great, especially against West Virginia, Burmeister is also taking a long time in the pocket, averaging 3.11 seconds per dropback, per PFF, which is among the 10 slowest times in the FBS this season. (The average is around 2.5 seconds.)”
