Been a Golden Hokie for almost 15 years and been on this site
since it was called Hokie Central. And, I am a college football crazy. Some would have said that the "ACC was/is a ruthless, capitalist force" when they were "raiding" the Big East - there were lots of articles about how the ACC was destroying the Big East and changing the college football landscape (and not in a good way). When it looked like VT was going to be left out of ACC expansion, there were many/most Hokie fans that agreed with that perspective. The minute VT was included, our perspectives changed and we were happier than pigs in poop - screw the Big East was our mindset. How do you think UConn feels and do you think many VT fans feel sorry for them? Nope.
ALL of college football is a ruthless, capitalist force - it is a multi $b business - always has been and always will be. There is no putting the Genie back into the bottle - it has been out of it for over 50 years. VT/ACC can sit back and wish for things to be different or they/we can actually do something about it.
