I'd like to see the eight best teams with no more than 2 from 1 conference

I still think four teams is sufficient since there are usually only two to three teams who can make a claim to the title. There are already a lot of blowouts with a four team playoff and I contend that there would be way more blowouts with eight or twelve teams. Per the link below, 9/21 playoff games were decided by 21 points or more and 14/21 games were 17 point or more margins.

Going to twelve would weed out the potential undefeated pretenders like UCF, Liberty and Coastal Carolina. I don't think many people take their natty claims seriously when they look at their soft schedules. There is also the added risk of injury from additional games.
