Sent to failing plants to put them back on the right track, or the guy who opens new plants/mines.

When I worked at USSOUTHCOM, the wife of one of my coworkers was a person her company used to open new stores. (Golden Corral?) She would live in the area for several months, interviewing management as well as front line staff, then provide the training on how to run the restaurant. Although each job was similar, there was enough variation to keep the job interesting.
