UConn isn't a small university and....


it's just as close or closer to large population centers than schools like UVA and UGA. Heck, UConn is less than a 30 minute drive from Hartford and 80 miles from Boston and 140 miles from the heart of NYC. It's relatively close to ESPN's corporate headquarters. As CrystalCove posted, they have plenty of alumni. Plus that school has proven that they can win NCAA team national championships. UConn is a land-grant university like Tech and also a Top 100 academic institution. They have made some poor decisions in football during the past decade or so. Not building a football stadium on campus is one of them. Plus, Connecticut is one of the wealthiest states in the nation.
