The SEC usually sets up an easy win for Bama to start the season

Not sure if ESPN artificially inflates the ranking of their opponent, but they are usually over-ranked. They also seem to play in Bama's backyard. Atlanta is a common location for these games.

When it comes to a team like Miami (and many other teams), it doesn't make any difference where Bama played them...they were going to get curb-stomped.
