Geographic primarily.

The ACC has a hole in the east coast footprint from NY to Washington, DC on the entire I-95 corridor. Everything from Harrisburg east to Atlantic City and all of Maryland are geographic gaps for the ACC. The value of Temple is that they sit right in the middle of it. No doubt they have a lot of work to do trying to make noise in it, but a few years ago they made a splash with their ND game.

I'd prefer Cincinnati on the list because they show more success in football and in basketball lately though. I was just looking at impact of local subscriber rate increases for the ACC Network in DMAs and states with an ACC member. ACC already gets PA, but Temple DMA includes South Jersey and Delaware. Cincinnati adds Ohio.
