I guess that is what the other 9 FBS conferences wanted

given Notre Dame's "value" in football. Is it the "right" thing to do? Maybe not. I will say since there are Independent schools in the FBS subdivision and they have equal access to the the NYD6/Playoffs, then it may make good business sense to have someone represent their interests in any discussions held by the College Football Playoffs LLC. Now whether Notre Dame is truly representing their interests too may be up for debate since I don't know what (if any) conversations it has with the other Independent schools.
