Ah, worries that never happen?

1) Scheduling is a straw man/red herring. An 8 game conference schedule and access to the CFP leaves plenty of room to be a national brand. And ND typically schedules a couple games a year that contribute nothing to that national scope, so you have some room to work with; if it is truly important, it can be accomplished. And in my lifetime, I can't remember a single story of a team being directed by a conference to play a particular game.

2) Put "Live Free or Die" in Latin on the helmet. Conferencing isn't hurting any of your other sports...it will have zero impact on football.

3) They'll get over it the first time a 2 loss ND team wins the conference and makes the playoff. Besides, what are they going to do, flip to BC? Sister Jean didn't give up on Loyola Chicago when they went to the MVC.

How this comes across...and you know this isn't a surprise or directed at you personally...is: "we are special and we expect to be treated that way". Which seems to be the antithesis of the selflessness that pervades church doctrine.
