You know what, an occasional blizzard and some cold months aren't that bad.
There's no history of earthquakes here. Tornado? Rare, and pretty weak if/when they do happen? Drought? Well, anywhere could get hit by that, but it's pretty damn rare here and doesn't lead to wildfires. Hurricanes? Wind is down to 60 MPH at best by the time they reach here....once every 7 years or so. Water shortage? This is certainly one of the top 10 areas in the world for fresh water availability. Flooding? Also very rare. Extreme heat? Maybe 10 to 14 days a year where the temperature tops 90F. Upstate NY. Eventual migratory destination.
So it snows and gets cold. I'll deal with it and will happily take that trade off.
